Product Description

The Venado (Deer en Español) with with the super secure ATS laces is the recommended street sandal.

The Venado (previously named the Original Luna) is handmade in Seattle. It represents the best fruits of our experiences and experiments with old-school footwear and gleanings from insights that we have gathered from both our ancestors and our customers.

It uses a 6mm Vibram neoprene sole (7mm with footbed) that is lightweight, comfortable, and has excellent ground feel. This sandal is great for running or walking on paved surfaces and moderate trails.

The Venado Weight (single sandal, men's size 9, ATS laces, either footbed): about 3.9 oz.

Fit/Size

These are my first. I have received them shortly ago and had a few walks in them. Surprisingly secure and well-fitting.

I am not a runner. Planning to use them for sailing, surfing and travel and as second pair of shoes for hiking, biking adventures.

What do you think this product is best for (ie trail running, road running, gym, beginners, advanced)?
I have only just received them. I plan to use them for travel, sailing and as second pair for hiking and biking outings.
What are the pros of this product?
packs thin, reasonably lightweight, strapping system makes sense and holds sandals securely
What are the cons of this product?
I have just unpacked and tried a few times, so far, no concerns. I think there is an additional strap available for an even more secure fit. Not sure I need it at this point but I would order it together with the sandals next time, just to be on the safe side.
Does the product come up large/small/true to size?
On the Luna webpage, sandals are listed in half-sizes. I am 8.5. On the Feetus website, I had to choose between 8 and 9 and ordered 8. The sandal I then received was the 8.5 which suited me perfectly.

Good but find the adjustment system lacking | Write a Review ›

Fit/Size

I bought these because it's so difficult to find totally flat sandals for the Summer. I use them just for walks of about 4 miles or general use, not running. So because they are for general use it would have been nice if they'd have looked a little nicer but fingers crossed for new designs in the future.
In general they are comfortable to walk in but the back heel strap keeps slipping off my heel which is annoying. I've tried adjusting them many times but they just either seem to slide off again or I have to have them so tight that they dig in on the top of my foot. So I'm still trying to work out the balance.

What do you think this product is best for (ie trail running, road running, gym, beginners, advanced)?
I only walk in them so I couldn't comment on other uses accept I wouldn't use these in the gym.
What are the pros of this product?
They're totally flat (which is hard to find) and the cushioning is quite good considering the thinness of the sole.
What are the cons of this product?
The adjustment system isn't quite good enough to accommodate all foot shapes so that they stay on without being too tight.
Does the product come up large/small/true to size?
It's about right
