The Swiss Barefoot Sockette (SBS) is designed for people that want barefoot feel with added protection.

The sockette is the ankle-height version of the original Swiss Barefoot Sock.

Due to the policy of Swiss Barefoot, we cannot accept returns on Swiss Barefoot socks if they have been tried on.

The label of the sock is sealed to prevent it being unfolded and tried on. This is done for medical and hygienic reasons. Swiss Protection Socks that have been tried on can be infected with foot or nail fungus. Therefore, we cannot sell returned socks once they have been tried on. We therefore cannot take back or exchange socks with a broken seal.

This only applies to Swiss BF socks, and we do accept returns (within 30-days) on everything else in store.

The Swiss Protection Sockette (SPS) has been designed for people who like to walk barefoot but do not want to get any cut wounds that are difficult to heal and prone to infection. It is the MAËL version for "soft ground" made of knitted material with a welded polyester bobble sole. The SPS is suitable for gardens, meadows, beaches, swimming, water sports, e. g. diving, slag line (cut-resistant).

Through the use of special knitting that protects against cuts, wearers of the SPS can largely protect themselves against the risk of being accidentally injured on sharp objects lying on the ground such as fragments of glass, corals or bits of metal.

In addition to people who are active in their leisure time, the SPS also offers protection to those people who like to walk barefoot but for whom cuts on their feet also mean a particular health risk. These include in particular haemophiliacs, persons who have to take anticoagulant drugs and Type 1 diabetics.

Technical details
The SPS is knitted from a combination of Kevlar (50%), polyester (32%), Spandex (8%) and cotton (10%). The sole reinforcement consists of eco-friendly PVC laminated onto the sole. Kevlar threads are always yellow for production reasons and are difficult to dye. Consequently, variations in design can be realised in the upper part.

Initially, some skill is required to push the individual toes, starting with the big toe, into their section; for anatomical reasons, this applies in particular to the small toe. The design has been created in such a way that the SPS does, however, fit most feet. After use, specifically also in salt water, the SPS should be washed in cold water with soap or a mild detergent.

SPS is suitable for:
- “Outdoor on soft ground"
- Track across the fields, sandy paths, forest paths, sandy beach, gardens
- Water sports, board sports, swimming (protecting from cuts caused by shells, corals, stones)

SPS is not suitable for:
- Tarmac roads, paths with sharp obstacles, rocky paths to a limited extent
- Water sports where there are sea urchins (not sting-proof)
- As no sole, not suitable as footwear for lengthy walking and hiking with abrasive movement
- For reasons of liability law, we request that you comply with this specification.

Special note
The Swiss Protection Sock is made using a knitted fabric where the principal yarn is one of the most resistant materials: Kevlar. But as with all knitted fabrics (stockings, pullover, wool socks etc) the knitting loops are extremely sensitive against pullout if you get caught on any even small hooking object. When you move away from such object the loop may be ruptured. Even one ruptured loop will open a hole at neighbour loops. We can not give any liability for such holes occurring in the use of the Swiss protection Sock.
